I was wanting to know what you guys thought about this or if theirs better ones out there.

both the same exact elbow for like $10 cheaper than the one you posted.

 

You think it still gives the same upgrade as the other one?

 

they are same brand and everything.

I've used one before. it's just a little tiny elbow with a hole in the side and a hex head adjustment screw to adjust how much air it bleeds off from the boost signal hose to the gate actuator.

all it does is limit how much boost the gate gets from the turbo to delay the gate from opening.

I actually got mine for free from XDP as I was buying other stuff at the same time. think I bought my airdog from them or something like that and they included the elbow for free. (talked to them on the phone)

 

I'm sorry man I'm still a newbie this is my first diesal would that make more boost or decrease it?

 

it will allow you to adjust the wastegate to keep it closed longer to build more boost before dumping the excess drive pressure.

the question is though: do you have an automatic trans or a manual trans...

2001-2002 automatics have a different turbo than 98-02 manual trucks...

they need a turnbuckle or J-hook instead of a boost elbow.

so boost elbow will work for 98-00 automatics and 98-02 manuals

turnbuckle/j-hook will work on 01-02 automatics.
