To start this off my pickup is a 1999 2500 24v, has 175hp injectors, Raptor LP, Headstuds, 110lbs Valvesprings, 2 year olds Vp44, 5" straight pipe,edge Drag comp programmer, southbend clutch, and thats all i can think of at the moment. Last Sunday i was on a trip home (100 mile roundtrip) and 10 miles from town my pickup started acting funny. Like a miss/pop. Boosted when i put the pedal down but popped and smoked gray. I went slow and took gravel to get home and by the time i got to town it idled rough and smoked like a freight train. Im thinking injectors but i really Would like some input! 142,000 miles, and was running great. The problem happened at 70 mph just cruising down the highway. Any Help would be appreciated! thankyou.

 

possibly a cracked injector or two, improper pop pressures, or an IP going bad...

fuel lubrication can help if its not bound.

 

Update. Changed my Injectors, ones that were in it were stock (guy i baught it from lied) installed 100hp DDP's and now runs better but still smokes white and idles slightly rough. What do you think?

 

My 98 24 valve is doing the same thing but no white smoke.The previous owner said he put new lift pump on between 140,000 and 198,000 and it has 202,000 now any ideas

 

I changed the injectors in mine but still missed, turned out to be a broken push rod..is urs a 12 or 24 valve?

 

24 Valve.It does not smoke any(except for morning starts&even then not much white smoke)and today drove to local Wal-Mart(2 get some 2-cycle oil)and it took 3 times to start(has always started 1st crank)after about 30 minutes waiting.Could it possibly be Head Gasket?My temp gauge has never been past 200.I need some help!
