Need help fast
Im new to the site and I know the whole 53 block deal has been discussed many times and I've done quite a bit of homework on that topic. However, I can't seem to find what Im looking for. Im gettin ready to buy a 1999 24v 5-speed manual 4x4 regular cab with only 106,000 miles on it. The truck is absolutely spotless, (senior owned).
I checked it out and have made 2 trips under the truck to try and find the casting number. I looked both on the drivers side and passenger side and can only find a marking on the passenger side of the block above the oil pan (where the 53 is supposed to be). It's a 1 inch letter "A" then right above it is another "A" that is circled. Does anyone know what this means? Is it one of the good blocks? The truck tag on the door says made in mexico and the vin number starts with a 3 which I've been told means it is a mexico made truck. I want to know as fast as possible because I really need this truck for my camper. Any help is greatly appreciated.

A means stop worrying about it A?
just buy it. hell if it was a clean spotless truck and had everything I wanted, I would buy it whether it was a 53 block or not.
speaking of, my truck IS a 53 block, have almost 600hp to the rear wheels, as much torque as a semi truck to the rear wheels, it's towed heavy goosenecks for the first 180k miles of its life, and since I got a hold of it has had a significant hp/tq bump and now has 239k miles. I'm not worried about it cracking.
