I was running down the highway stepped on the throttle to pass a car to get over and the truck didn't move it actually started slowing down with my foot on the throttle, I coated to a stop on the side of the highway had to have it towed home I checked for codes and there are 4 of them. My low fuel light never came on and I had almost a half a tank according to my gauge. the codes I got where P0463,P1693,and P0117 twice with a pd next to it on the second one can anyone help please I'm new to the cummins diesel and I just baught this truck last week

 

your lift pump probably crapped out. Air Dog and Fass both make great aftermarket lift pumps.

 

The fuel gauge may not be right. I'm empty when my gauge says I've got a half tank. So I would suggest adding some fuel and bleeding the injectors first and see if she will start. Do you have a fuel pressure gauge?

 

ok it was out of fuel just bled it and it is running again I ran it out of fuel. No I don't have a fuel pressure gauge it's on my to get list I just bought it last week it already has the boost,trans temp and exhaust temp gauges so now I need to get a new fuel gauge a fuel pressure gauge.

i was kinda hoping it was the lift pump so i could upgrade it. i had the better half saying i could upgrade if it was broke.
