Default Turbo spool issues

Hey all,

I've got a 2001 24V auto with an HX turbo. Just got back from two years in Japan, let my wife/mother use the truck while I was away. Every morning when I leave for work, the turbo will now spool over 1psi untill I have driven about 3/4 of a mile, then everything is fine. Just wondering what the issue could be, especially since I had the HY fail (turbine was wrecked). Afraid it could be an oil issue, but Im not sure how to check for it.

If any of these mods matter-

KN Filter/kit
Edge Programmer
AirDog lift pump
HX turbo
BigLine fuel lines

Thanks yall!

Possible stuck wastegate in the turbo. Pressure sensor issue.

Codes?

Never experienced that before but I agree with RAW, sounds like a sticking wastegate.

which HX turbo do you have? HX35w, HX40?

checked for boost leaks?

using a mechanical gauge, or a digital gauge off the map sensor?
