Just died on him

P1688 is the only code i could pull

Replaced Fuel Filter , Cracked Line at VP44 Inlet , Pumping Fuel 12 PSI on FP gauge Post Filter , Will Fire on Either but soon Dies

VP44 DOA was my Guess

Read somewhere lack of fuel or fuel cavitation doesn't help VP's.

I would crack 1,3&4 and try again b4 ya go fer a new pump

it dont sound good for the VP but try it eh

Well check for, looks lines, mine did the same thing and it was a 20c clamp, near the tank and it was sucking more air than fuel. Had good fuel psi at pump, new filter, etc. Crack lines and see whta happens.

P1688 (M) Internal Fuel Injection Pump Controller Failure Internal problem within the fuel injection pump. Low power, engine derated, or engine stops.

VP44 is DEAD!!!

Ether is just cheating the fuel system. Like on our military fire truck of the fuel cutoff is pulled the engine will still fire on ether for a short run and then die as well...

DieselMinded you know better not to use ether on a Dodge with grid heaters don't you??? Or at least pull the grid heater leads before using...
