Can I get some advice on my air I have a 02 cummins and it does hold air for a day if I charge it but it leaks where could it be leaking at

 

You question is a broad one. There are several places it could leaking at. My advice is get one of the kits that has the dye in it. The kit I am talking about comes with a UV penlight for seeing the dye. Look real good around at all the points where there are connections. such as where the Lines connect to the compressor, The seal behind the compressor clutch. The compressor housing.

 

Also check the schrader valves (the connections for the high side and the low side), I have seen many of them leak especially if someone cranked down on them when hooking up their gauges. You can also spray soapy water on the lines, connections, condensor, etc. (I don't think I'd spray the schrader valves with soapy water because when you hook up the gauges after that the water can get inside the system and moisture is an enemy to your A/C.) You can usually tell if they are leaking because you can see the freon bubble out. Keep in mind that when you lose freon you loose some oil too and if you lose enough oil your compressor will seize.

 

use a charge can with dye in it and use a UV light with UV glasses...

should make the dye glow neon and make it easy to spot the leak.

 

Most of the time you can see the oil coming out of the leak. Look for wet dust. At the rate you are losing charge you should be able to see the leak.

If you can jump the relay to the a/c compressor and build pressure, you will probably be able to find the pressure leaking out. You will just hear an air leak. I wouldn't do it a lot because the refrigerant has oil for the compressor. People might say not to do this but if you don't run it for a long time then you will be fine. I would make sure you use a gauge set at least to make sure your not over charged. Over charge will do the same thing as under charge. Good luck. Usually one leak results in multiple things. P.B. blaster is your friend.
