My gauges are LED, so very low amp draw. Took dimmer power off of the ash tray wire. That way it dims with your headlights. LED is a great way to go because you almost can't over tax and existing circuit.

So you just hook up to your ash tray light to power on your guages and they dim with the interior cab lighting dimmer switch? that will be the way I go if that is the case, mine are LED as well and I know they practically take nothing to illuminate them, also Joe, around how much did it cost you to go disc brakes all the way around I am seriously considering it

All he did was instead of going to the dimmer **** on the back of the headlight switch he took the wire to the ashtray. You are doing the same thing with the way I told you except his way you have to run a longer piece of wire and route it. You still have to hook to an ignition wire to actually power the gauges on with the key.

Just take a look at our installation sheets pager here: Gauge Installations at DieselManor - 1998.5-2002 Dodge 5.9L Cummins
And if you buy your gauge kit from us you'll get a hard cope of the same along with a complementary wiring kit that includes all of the wire taps, and fuse tap.
