Sometimes when I turn the key to start the truck I get a click. Release the key and next time it will start. No set pattern of when it happens. Both when it's wamn and cold.
I've cleaned the battery terminals and load tested the batterys.
Truck is bone stock.
What do I check now?

sounds like it could be the starter solenoid

 

Mine starting acting weird as well. Started 99% of the time, but every now and then wouldn't. Even a couple times, the starter stayed engaged, even with the key off. It was the starter solenoid. I just replaced the whole unit with a rebuilt one for $140.

I wasnt aware you could get the contacts by themselves. I replaced my starter last year and still have the core. Maybe I will get the contact for it and keep it as a spare or sell it. Thanks Mopar1973man. Great info.
