im looking at buying this 2002 3500 2WD 24V but it has a strange knock the guys saying its a lifter but im not good at cummins so any ideas?

 

any motor knock is not good unless hes selling the truck to you for cheap i wouldn't buy it

 

With the truck running you should be able to hear about where its coming from. Have you heard the truck run? Anything with a knock I wouldnt be buying it unless it was cheap. What qualifies the seller to know its a lifter and not the bottom end?

 

exactly what these guys said, unless hes selling for cheap, I'd be cautious. A bad injector could make one knock, also. Whats the back story on the truck? was it hot rodded?

 

yea ive drove the truck and hes wanting to trade it for a 4 wheeler i dont even use the knock sounds like a wrist pin slap the truck was driving from huston tex to montgomery AL and the plate on the drivers side blowed out the seal and it was dumping oil i went and got it and we fixed it and it has had this knock since then it has good power but its using alot of fuel its only been drove with this knock about 80 miles i have a video of the truck running but i cant upload it so i can text it if anyone is willing to help me that would be great im really looking for a 12v or 24v ext cap 2500 4x4 for my son but i cant find anything thats not trash and i have a 2002 chevy 3500 4x4 that needs injectors i will trade if any ones willing to do something thanks guys

well im looking for something i can trade for or something i dont have a lump some to buy sratght out thats why i looked at this truck but its not looking goo at all.......i still cant get that video to upload even off of photo bucket
