So today I did a lot of driving with my truck for work. About 250 miles with pretty much no stopping. Set the cruise control on 70. Once i got back into the city i was cruising at about 43-45 mph. Went to pass someone and stepped on the pedal and didnt get any acceleration. This happened to me several times on the way home. It only happens randomly. Anyone have any ideas what this problem is. I should also add that when I get on it I don't hear the turbos pool. And it shifts fine into every gear

 

sounds like dead pedal to me, vp44 maybe if the rpms aren't going up that is

Have you checked for codes? I agree with lauber_03. It could be the pump or the apps. Read this VP44 Diagnostic

 

I havent checked codes. I don't have any lights on though. and i already have an after marker vp44 (BD diesel HP)
