the highest my truck has ever hit is 42psi with adrenaline on level 10. pretty sure my waste gate is stuck closed. they usually wont hit over 28psi with an adrenaline tuner unless you clamp the waste gate closed or its stuck closed

On a stock charger? Those numbers are way out of range of the map on an HX or HY 35 charger.

I don't know for sure if the turbo has been upgraded or not. Says holset on it so I assume not. But boost gauge confirms 44psi. I'll try to get a video when I get the truck back on the road. Currently down because it ate the SouthBend DD clutch.

You need to set your wastegate to open up at 35psi. More than that and all your doing is super heating the air, which robs hp.

If his turbo was upgraded to a holset 351cw or 351ve from a 3rd gen he would be efficient at up to 50psi right?

Bryce, I guess you are directing that question at me? The answer to that is I don't know, never ran either one. Fixing to run a 351ve when I get my controller...

Have a 96 dodge pushing 47 lbs and my dads 98 will hit 37. He has an edge and elbow. Stock he was about 24-25. One thing on his we have noticed is it will blow the boot off as it enters the innercooler. We've tried different boots, glue clamps and same issue after about 5000 miles. His shows boost when it occurs just pretty gutless.

351ve has a 9cm to 21cm turbine housing, in theory. So 50psi boost should flow through a 21cm housing without causing too much back pressure.

how come you dont run a spring? thats what we are going to when i do my swap til i get my fleece controller. but i need to get head studs first. and while the covers off putting 150 horse sticks in too. are you welding a t-4 flange on your stock manifold? we ran my buddys with a spring til he got his fleece controller and it worked great. truck screamed with that and 150hp sticks. and he has adrenaline stacked with smarty too.

I am in no hurry. I want the full control of the VGT, especially the exhaust brake.
