apps sensor mess

Default apps sensor mess

Well I recently put a new vp44 in and I noticed all these weird wire's on the apps sensor...the one go's to the negative post on the battery...the other go's to a harness by the airbox which they also cut one of the wire's there any idea's?

I would guess the previous owner was having a hard time with the torque converter going in and out of lockup. The orange/blue wire is the apps input to the pcm which helps tell the tc when to lock and unlock. It runs buy the alternator which can cause interference in the signal causing the tc to constantly go in and out of lockup when cruising down the highway. It looks like they rerouted the apps wire to keep it away from the alt. But I agree it does look like a mess.

I would say that the wire going to the -battery is a noise isolator.
