Default No Power to 12v outlet??

I have no power to the 12 volt outlet on my 98.5 2500. I can not find a fuse that seems blown. this is the 12v outlet on the upper part of the dash to the right of the radio. thanks for any advice not a real biggy but would like to get power to it.

Do the dome lights work, hood light? I'm confused on the location of the outtlet,I thought '97&down had the power outlet up to the right of radio, 98 & uphad the airbag switch there & the outlet was down in the lower dash above the hump.pull the bezel to make sure the wire didn't fall off,get a testlightetc. Raw williams has diagrams, VERY HELPFUL!! makes it sooo much easier to find stuff

I will try to take a picture tomorrow and show the location. this is a 98.5 24v. All the other lights work and the other 12 volt outlet works, I do know that my dash is different then my boys 2000 dodge. I have the old style pull out light switch.. Thanks for the input. ED

I'll ask you this, are you sure you don't have power to the outlet. I would pull the lighter socket out and test the plug to the back of the socket first. Might be you have a faulty socket because of a Loose connection, broke solder joint, etc.

Ok got it,I think when they changed from the pull headlight switch to the rotary is when they changed the location of the power outlet, still it doesn't matter where it is it's not working &we need to help you fix it! Did you try for power with key on? does the under hood light work? I'm thinking it's a pink wire but not sure I'd pull the bezel & check the socket is plugged in&check ground to the outer side

I have checked it with a meter and no power, not sure how hard it would be to get to the back to check the wire going to the socket. I will live with it if it is too difficult to get to the back of the socket.

I'm having the same problem with my 12v socket. There aren't any blown fuses but it doesn't have any power.
