So my trans was acting up like it was slipping on the way home then nada???? Then was okay again so I drained and changed the filter and new fluid but still acting up when switching gears not sure just too much slipping and it takes too many rpms to get it to take off??? Looking for the best economical yet correct way to rebuild or buy a built tranny for the long haul. I dont pull much for trailers but dont wana be afraid to either and I love my truck so I plan on keeping it. I got a local quote without a breakdown of what upgrades to rebuild and it was 2600 bux does that sound about right??

Sounds like a decent price, depending on what all he is doing. Almost sounds like a stock rebuild, which you want to stay away from. A well built auto, with labor, can be upwards of $5000.

If you are mechanically inclined, you can buy a kit and do it yourself. If not, an exchange may be the way to go. The only thing I don't like about exchanges, from places like Goerend, SunCoast, BD, is if warranty is needed you have to send it to them. I like local builders, as they are local and so is the warranty. If you can find a reputable builder locally, I suggest that.

Suncoast and ATS both have authorized dealers throughout the country. They don't list them on their websites but if you give them a call they will tell you if there is a dealer close to you.
