So i replaced my CPS and i was stuck and was ripping on it a little and the truck throw a code again for cps so i maybe sure it was plugged in etc, get it home on limp mode took old CPS out and the end of it was chewed up???? wth??? i replaced it again truck started rpms are good then rpms go out into limp mode again??? took the cps back out looks nice nothing wrong ttry it again same thing took it out returned it thinking it was the cps tryed a new one from napa same deal i need help[ here only truck i got any ideas thanks guys

do they make a cps for an auto and a 5 speed? they didnt ask me if i had either so i wasnt sure

any ideas what i should start to check out???? wiring ohming the plug?

 

CPS should be the same for either transmission. Very odd the end was chewed up, the gear must be hitting it.

 

yea im guessing maybe it hit it and pulled or tweaked wire so i put new one in and its not hit now but works for a about 15 secs then rpms go dead and cel ill have to check wiring good and what else should i check???

i think the toner ring is missing or came loose????

 

i took my bore scope and took cps out for the 12th time and seen my toner ring missing one half well pullin the pan and getting it back on!!!!! any one know the size of bolts they are?

 

got the pan off found my toner ring in pieces on the bottom of pan it tore it up good!!!! ordered a new one motor looks ok!!!!!

i looked around in there didnt see anything outta wack the crank thrush looked good etc. i lifted the truck up got all the oil pan bolts out loosened the motor mount bolts lowered truck down put the cherry picker on the front hook unbolted fan shroud and lifted it up got my creeper got the oil pick up tube off and bang she was out, a guy i know i used his shop whos be doin cummins for 25 + years said hes heard but never see them break or the bolts come loose like mine ill try n get a pic of the pieces on here its crazy new part be here tomorrow and monday ill get her back n runningQ!!!
