hey guys, was driving my truck and i had a goose neck trailer with two cars on it. i was cruisen around 55 mph and i went to speed up and there was a sudden huge shake like it shook my drink out of my cup holder. it only shakes in third and o/d when you accelerate. could this be my tranny. its not the injection pump because it keeps a constant 10 psi and there is no weird idle or stutter and not the steering because its not the wheel that shakes. what could this be?

 

Is it auto trans? Sounds like good possibility.

Sounds like TC slipping. Mine has done it a couple times and your description fits to a T.

 

Yep, mine did that too. Torque converter time. I replaced mine with a twin disc Billet. Solid as a rock now.

 

alright thanks guys. do i need a valve body in my tranny if i get a new tc. if so what is a good valve body, tc and rebuild kit? i tow at least once a week and i never see me exceeding 500 hp.
