swapping welded diff for ls/open diff

can i pull out the welded one and put a factory limited slip or open diff back in with my shims back in and my backlash be ok or will it need to be set back up?

Need to make sure it's setup correctly whenever you change parts

Yeah make sure you re-set backlash after the swap. Even reusing the old stuff, backlash will not be the same now as it was origanally.
