I have a 2002 cummins with the nv4500, can i get the 3 cylinder on my truck.

 

Yes you can, I have it on my truck. You can have the dealer flash your PCM with the program. Ive heard that some programmers have the feuture also. But my PCM is flashed to go to high idle at 10 degrees and 3 cylinder high idle at -30 degrees.

 

cause i heard that you could only get it on the 2001 dodges

 

I'm pretty sure all VP44 trucks can get it.

 

Smarty has the capability. Once your truck is flashed with a smarty it will always be on there. Or my quad does it and I can control when the high idle shuts off via coolant temp

 

I didn't know the Quad could do that, interesting!

 

Yep it has high idle that i can set to kick off from 130-190 i think it is. And I can set the delay for how long before high idle kicks in.

 

IMO it is a must to have a High Idle Fooler......

All you need to do it get it turned on by the dealership or a smarty.

Hmmm i never seen those. I like the one on the quad its simple to use and works very well. And unlike the dealership, and the smarty it high idles until the temp its set to shut off at is. Which for me is nice because my truck idles even when its hot out before i drive it

 

Yeah the idle fooler can work in 100+ degree weather. So it can help cool the inside during summer and also warm the inside during winter. You can leave it on as long as you want (within reason). I don't, I just get it fooled and once it ramps up the idle I turn the fooler off and let the ecm control it.
