Default u-joint issues

ok so as the title states im having trouble keeping u-joints in the tail of the driveshaft.... i have had the truck for 7 years and this is getting ready to be the 6th u-joint ive put in.. what could be the problem????? im thinking about taking the driveshaft out and having it balanced to see if thats the problem, was also told that it could be the shaft angle since it has bigger tires on it. im running 285/75/16 with no lift. anybody have any ideas??????

the tires shouldnt be the problem at all, if it was out of balance i think you would feel a shake???

get the shaft balanced, get a new yoke, and use a quality greasable u-joint.

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

also check pinion bearing for in/out, side to side play.

You could be having a lot of axle wrap causing extreme angles on acceleration.

go to a driveline shop and get the visteon or spicer non-greasable u joints they are the only ones that last I could tear up a greasable joint in 6 months. I put new joints in my truck winter of 2009 and they are still holding up well and I did drag race my truck for a full year on them running high 11's to low 12's. my greasble joints had to be changed every 6 months or they changed themselves
