So just put a cat 2 micron filter instead?

Bryce 10-09-2012 10:24 PM

Cat 1R-0751 filter will fit on the airdog but you will have to grind part of the bracket on the pump as the cat is slightly bigger than the airdog filters. I suggest you get the airdog 10 micron filter to put on the pump and then buy a remote filter housing, install it between the vp and the airdog, and put a 2 micron cat filter there.

So if i dont do all that, and i just get the airdog filter, should i get the 10 or the 2?

Bryce 10-09-2012 10:54 PM

I'd get the 2.

I have been heard that you are supposed to run a 2 micron in the summer and a 10 micron in the winter.....???? dont know if thats totally true or not but thats what ive done since my airdog has been in and had no issues... i always buy airdog replacement filters:tu:

After changing filters on the airdog do i prime it a couple times before starting just like i normally do when changing fuel filters normally? Never dealt with the airdog, was on truck when i bought it.

Yea, your gonna have fun reprimeig the cummins, Im not familiar with the ari dog system but I would crack injection lines 1,3,4 untill you get fuel then close them back up and start the truck its gonna run rough for a minute, but hop in the truck and bring the rpms up to 1200 for a couple of minutes and your set!! just make sure your injection lines are tight enough over a good snug will be good 18ftlbs..

I use the Highest Napa Filter, Wix, or Fleetguard depending on where im at when i need a filter. I run either Champion Blue Flame oil or Schaffers Full Synthetic in the engine. And everything else is Schaeffers in the Axles, T-Case, Trans

I like the Rotella 5W40 syn, and run a Donaldson oil filter. From what Ive read and heard, theyre are both very good. Expensive, but not as bad as changing my tranny fluid. I have the NV4500, just did a fluid change. Big $$$$ for that shit!!:dang:
