Need info on oil and filters

I run Rotella T6 5w40 full synthetic and Donaldson ELF7349 filter and go 10k miles between changes. The donaldson filter has the best ratings of any filter available for our trucks. Efficiency is 99% at 15 microns and 50% at 7 microns. Truckhelp.com has the best price on them but you have to buy $50 worth of stuff to get free shipping. I run mobil 1 gear lube in the diffs. If your airdog is running through the stock filter housing get a Baldwin pf7777 fuel filter.

Whatever oil you use just make sure it is approved for use in diesels. I went over to my parents one day, my dad was finishing up an oil change on his 03 cummins and I noticed some empty jugs of 5w40 mobil 1 for gas engines. We did another oil change.

I changed dads oil on his 1500 silverado, and put a couple quarts of 15w40 in it but thankfully i didnt put more! That crap is expensive

You want the 2 micron. You'll have to change it a little more often but it will filter the smaller particles

Or you could get the 10 micron and get a remote filter kit. Install it after your airdog and put a Cat 2 micron filter on it. That way you're not clogging the 2 micron as quick and the Cat's are cheaper than the airdog filters.
