4x4 question

Default 4x4 question

i need some help due to the rain we got down here in south texas and some of our cattle that need to be moved my 4x4 couldnt of picked a better time to take a crap on me its worked fine since i bought the truck a year ago and now it just wont lock into 4x4 idk the first thing about it or what could be the problem. it worked fine till i was at the beach in 4x4 driving down the beach not deap sand just didnt want to chance it and i took it out of 4x4 now i cant get it to lock in i can move the shifter to where it should be in 4x4 but it wont engage?? what could be the problem

There is a vaccum hose and an electrical connection at the 4x4 actuator on the pass side of the axle. Check those make sure they are conected

if it is the vacume line you can just replace/ fixe that. if it is the acuatore you can temparly make it stuck in 4x4 by apply vacume to the line and sealing it off. i had to do it in mine wile i wated for the acuator to show up at oriellys.

alrighty i checked it out and stil cant figure it out i found the elect plug i think is it on the axle? and idk if this would work but when i put the truck in 4wd and took the lines off i couldnt feel any suction on any of the lines?? some more help please

the vaccuum line is the rubber hose next to the electrical connection make sure its not missing and or not cracked or split

should the lines pull out of the connection easily?

yeah the lines pull off semi easily. check to make sure that they are connected to front end as well as connected to transfer case as well. Also check to see if maybe you didnt run over something that might have kinked the lines somewhere.

will do thanks for the help what is the electronic part? is it expensive to replace? and can i get those fitting on the end of the vacume linesd at orileys?

The electrical connection just tells the 4x4 light on the dash to come on. I'm don't know if oriellys does that or not.
