Here's what I did. My Afe exhaust came with their muffler. It was OK until I towed my travel trailer, then it was too loud. Almost not like having a muffler, but not as raspy. I went on ebay and searched. I found an auction going for a new MBRP 4" stainless muffler. I was the only bid and I got it for $27 bucks shipped. Got lucky I guess, but the deals are out there if you look. Also, some of the muffler vendors have sound clips of their mufflers, when ideling, accelerating, and drive by, all on line.

i havent had any trouble yet, but if i see a cop i always let off as much as possible. doesnt really help much when you have dual 6 inch stacks though. trucks still pretty loud. when i was hauling trailer with the mini excavator for my boss the other day as a favor, it was so loud on the thruway it felt like my ear drums were going to blow out!!

Mbrp is the way for a good sounding but not overly loud exhaust and they got good warranties

 

Nutty jeeps, sometimes in life ya have to swallow your pride, take a bite out of that **** sandwich and sacrafice a little.
