limb/dead pedal
Hey im new to the forum. I purchased a 99 24v with 190,000 on it. Its bone stock, the problem is sometimes when i start up it has a little more power than idle. i turn it off an start it again then its fine. Also a major problem is it wont seem to downshift at lower speeds, i have to let off the pedal to let it shift. At higher speeds uts fine. I replaced the tps sensor an cleaned the map sensor but not effect. Im planning on buying a map sensor tomorrow but i dont want to spend 100 if its something big like the lift pump or etc.
Could you clarify what you mean by "it has a little more power than idle." Do you mean it idles fast, say around 1200rpm. Trans not down shifting could mean that you just need to adjust the shift bands.
My bad on the long reply, it threw PO216. Is tgat the injection pump? When i put in drive an push tge pedal.it has a little more power then if i wasnt pushing the pedal at all. Ill definitely look into the shifting bands now.
216 is the code for the injection pump but it doesn't necissarily mean the ip is bad. Try reseting and relearning your apps. Disconnect both batteries, turn the key on and let it sit for at least 30min. Turn key off, rehook batteries, turn key on don't start it, and slowly press the accelerator all the way down and then slowly depress it. Turn key off and your done.
Ok ill give it a try now, thanks for the input.

I gave the apps reset a try an it still has very little power. Im gonnq go ahead an replace the map sensor an see if it improves.
