What would it take to hit 600hp?

I never put a cam in my old truck, or intercooler before I sold it. I had considered it but never did. My reasoning for the 66 and later a 73 was high lift mach 8's and a bottle. We just put a colt big stick in a 12v truck and regretted not trying one. But at the time the only thing available was dons cam or a custom grind. I was running out of fuel in the 800 runs anyway

Hey Scott I just realized you stacking with a amarth. What tune is in the smarty? I consistently lost 30-40 rwhp OR had a spiked graph. I've seen multiple trucks loose top end but contributed my power lost to the combination of huge high lift sticks and the intense low end fueling with the smarty.

Yeah they injector style has alot to do with it. I have a set of IIS 6x0.018s and so i run pretty mild tuning. But the cam and ic made such a huge difference that any truck i buy after this one will get a cam. Also now with the quad 4k tuning i need way more air on the top end. So i think a 480 will compliment that nicely

On that setup the smarty actually helped with the stock H.O Pump. After that pump died I went with a S.O Pump and ran into the same issue that you had where i could just put the fire out on the bottom end. But i ran the smarty on setting three with added timing and tq managament. And then I upped the sub setting timing as well

I went with a colt stage 3 billet cam. I cant tell you what the power increase was because it hasnt been dynoed since the cam install. I did see around a 30% decrease in smoke, dropped 100-150 rpm off spool up time, lowered egts, and picked up some fuel mileage as well.

Hey Scott what cam did you use. I think that is my next thing on my list. What kind of hp do u think u added by that came.

Ya I think it will help me a lot cause at 70 mph im leaving a slight trail of smoke behind me. Is there a way to tell how big ur injectors are by reading the part number on the injector.
