Default a/c questions

Had to replace my highside line and condensor. totally empty and everyone around wants like 170+ to recharge. can you just use some of the r-134a cans from the parts store to rechare or no. its about 1.9lbs or so and i can't remember if it'll work or burn up the compressor?

Yes pag oil but you're better off having someone with an ac machie do it. It should be vacumed down 1st especially after changing parts.

If Youre a Do-it-Yourselfer, its not very challenging. You can always rent a vaccuum pump and gauges. Bring vaccuum to as close to 30hg as possible. then just add the reccommended amount of pag and r-134. Just did mine this summer, after replacing my a/c pump and accumulator. It was rather easy to do and works well. Saved a bunch of "cha-ching" doing it myself.
