i have a 99 cummins 5 speed 150hp injectors smarty box exhaust and the truck dies all gauges stop and will go back to normal if the truck restarts some times, says no bus abs brake light come one some times any ideas?? thanks

 

have you checked for codes? sounds like maybe an electrical issue check your grounds and connections. Also put you stuff for your truck in you signature, Go to User CP in the Upper Left corner scroll down to edit signature.

 

I have the exact same problem I've been chasing wires for a week. I'm starting to think it might have something to do with the APPS because every time I "reset" it the truck started back up.. Let me know if you find anything new

 

yea my truck will start back up and run fine then do it all over again, i checked fuses ground, cleaned grounds took the main wires going to under hood fuse block cleaned and bolted back down check wires behind cluster ill have to try it today since ive done the work, some told me the clusters sometimes go to hell????

 

yea they can if you think its the APPS you can reset the apps.

 

imma try that one code was no commucation to pcm? or ecm? other then that the trucks runs awesome this winter im thinking of head studs and a hx 55 behind the hx35 my buddy twins alot of cummins and he said hell help me out he twinned his 08 ford and swap with an 04 cummins runs strong waste gated at 90 psi

reset apps then i put the power wire back to the tst chip n the box started smoking took it all out and the truck so far is running and not dying... are the edge cst any good?

 

dont know can be a bad box, call edge they have realy good customer service and well help you. I think edge is a good company.

 

oh i dont have a cst i had a tst power max 3 n it run egts hot but my smarty on level 5 is good i like it next is gaauges and a fass system

 

you run those mods with no gauges or fuel system? well anyways, my buddy had "no bus" happening to him he pulled his whole gauge cluster out and found some burnt wires, repaired them and viola!

 

My 01 Cummins did that to all it was is a 5 dollar engine control fuse. Hope this helps
