Default SERIOUS mod list help?

well just throwing a number out there ill have about 1500 to spend on mods for my truck. was wondering what you guys thought would be some of the best things to do?

The Gauges(EGT and BOOST) are a must.
also a fuel pin and govener spring

Turbo mod is in my mind but am not sure which route to go with it. Upgrade the h1c? or get something different. I know a boy with a "built hx40" for 600, but im trying to get more info on it. Not sure what im gonna do with it yet.

Also injectors are running around in my head but thats just a idea. Not sure whether to get something like some P.O.Ds or not.My goal isnt to blow smoke, but it doesnt bother me if i do.

The previous plan was doing fuel pin govener spring gauges and either a hx35 or upgrade the h1c, and maybe injectors. now im unsure how it will all work together.

Any insight would be great.thanks.

Default upgrades??

i dont know if this helps, but i to am in the market for similar parts. I have been researching the upgraded cold side housing with the 60mm wheel and then a 16cm2 exhaust housing. have heard good things about this set up for the H1C and a good starter. and its about 400 total. (just for parts) For sure gauges and then turn up the full power screw and other things in acordance with that. i think also a 4 in. turbo back system as well. IDK just my thoughts though. what ya think??

What kind of tranny do you have? Getrag of 518? If it's the auto I'd spend my money on the tranny and some gauges first.

so you think just fuel pin gov spring and pump tuning will be enough for the 40? and as far as tranny i gotta nv4500 with hardened input and output shafts. and will def be getting gauges dont worry about that.

Yeah should spool it okay make sure you get the hx40 with the t3 flange if possible, a hx40 has a 4" outlet on the exhaust side so your gonna need a 4" exhaust with a 4" flange on it.

right urgunna need a 40 down pipe available through pdr, and yes ull have plenty of fuel to spool it, i run a 4k gov w denny t stage 2 pin timing advancedto head and all the little pump tricks ull learn about w an hx35 and it spools super quick and doesnt run bad or now, last track time before adv. timing and tunig afc was 16.90 4wd and everything else is stock on truck stock 4speed auto trani btw holds 35-37 psi of bost in all 4 gears

i wouldnt advance the timing to the head it reduces your high end power. m&h had a spacer kit that will advance your timing for $100 nd it keeps the high end power. id invest in a set of injectors you can get em from most places for around 600 for a good set. with my mods i ran a 14.5 but wouldnt shift into o/d. i just got my turbo and hoping to get my tranny tuned in to shave another second off

its on a second gen so how do i know if it has the t3 flange?and im not worried about the down pipe, im going to be custom making my own pipe for a hood stack.

also, just ordered my boost and pyrometer gauges as well as the dennyt and 3200 spring.

Turbo mod is definately coming soon. I think ive pretty much narrowed it down to a 35 40 or he 351. Which would you guys suggest? I like the idea of a 351 but i just feel like its too hard to get it all set up. Opinions on this?

by the way i may end up with some mild injectors soon as well.

the HE351 hands down is a better turbo. it is a 60/60/9. it will move more air and will spool just as fast as the hx35 and in my opinion a much more likable turbo over the hx40 aswell. to run the 3rd gen turbo you will need a different cold pipe to your intercooler as well. and advancing timing looses you bottom end not top end? if you've got some money left a good fuel system is always a plus and peice of mind.
