Need help!!! Rearend problems
Ok so I just bought my first truck. A 1992 3/4 ton cummins auto 4x4 I got it for 2250 bucks. The cchatch is that the rearend has issues. When you drive it down the road it sounds like tank tracks clanging down the pavement. It sorta reverberates through driveshaft and through the tcase me and my dad are at a loss about what the hell it is. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Matt

I think the first thing I would check would be the U joints and driveshaft center carrier bearing.
After that jack up the truck and rotate the rear wheels to see if everything is turning smoothly in the rearend itself, gear oil filled up, and the wheel bearings are good.

If all of that is good check the t-case the chain could have slop in it. and you could have a bearing that is only making noise under load inf the diff, Is the noise going strait of in turns, if its going strait it could be the ring and pinon. Good luck
