Help!!
Alright I am kinda new with all this stuff but here we go, so i bought a 92 cummins w250 off of a guy and drove it a few days then it quite running, I later found out that this was because he had plugged off the return line coming off the injectors. He did this because he had the return line plummed to slip tank then when he sold the truck he took the tank out and instead of running it to fuel tank he just plugged the end of the hose. Well after changing it back to the original return hose found that the lift pump was damadged. so i changed this and cracked the injectors and it fired up. But now it is very hard starting and i noticed that there is a small fuel leak coming from injection pump. Just wondering if that is wrecked now because of this?? any help will do the truck used to start up first crank now it takes like 10.
Where is the leak? Basically with no return line it put the internal pump pressure through the roof. Check the engine oil n hope you dont find fuel in there. If you do the front seal of the pump is is leaking.
Ok well I checked the oil and it didn't look or smell like diesel has gotten in there. And the leak appears to be coming from around the area of that spring. Bare with me I am new to all this. It is just taking a lot of cranks to fire up.
Is it leaking in the highlighted area on the pic below? If so both my dodges have leaked there I didn't change the o-ring in either one. All I did was get her running dump in a good dose of conditioner and some 2 stroke oil n drove it HARD like working that pedal from idle to full throttle a lot n both of them stopped leaking or you can pull the top cover, install a 3200 rpm gov spring and a new o-ring there.
