As is comon for a 1st gen mine has several broken wires hanging from it. One thing that raised my curiosity is there are wires coming out of my rear differential that come together to an ellectrical connector with nothing plugged into it. Mine is an 89 2wd, but it is NOT an orrignal rear diff. It is a spicer/dana 70. Does anyone know why there is an electrical hookup to my rear diff? Is it possible that the axle is from a later truck that had an electrically locking rear diff? Did the later spicer 70's have an electrically locking rear diff?
ANyway I was hoping someone would impart of their knowledge so I could possible activitate the locking capabilities if they are there cus it sucks driving a 1wd cummins.

Rear abs sensor. I believe all the first gens have it and I don't know of any that work.

Oh and there is no factory locker in any of the Dana 70s I know of.
Also, what makes u say the axle is not original?

The old guy I bought it from said he replaced the whole rear axle after it went out after one of the seals went out. I was just curious if anyone knew how to tell if they went to a wheel speed sensor or if there was possible electronic limited slip. Where are the wheel speed sensors on the spicer 70's?
