im new here, and have a 93 cummins with some issues. i dont know a lot about diesels, and this is my first one.

when its in park or neutral it smokes white and back fires at high rpms, but when its moving i can floor it and it will smoke black and not back fire. also it starts strong sometimes, but other times it starts really weak

you could be getting air into the lines or possible plugged fuel filter. check fuel lines from tank to the lift pump and check injector lines and such for a possible pin hole leak.

ok, but if the injection lines are under pressure wouldnt the fuel come out of it? and ill check the fuel filter asap thank you

yeah. i have a bad line and it doesnt spray out it just keeps the line wet with fuel around it.

so my lines are good, still have not checked the fuel filter yet tho.
could it also be that my rocker arms are loose?
