Default intercooler

got an intercooler off of a semi engine, dont know the model just know it was a huge inline 6 caterpillar engine. the intercooler says ford on both sides and is HUGE. my question is does anyone have any measurements that would be the biggest intercooler i could run inplace of stock one?

I think the powerstroke I/C is about as big as people go and still tuck everything behind the grille. Haven't swapped mine on yet but read about it

You could, like, lift the truck, put some big tires on it, run the intercooler down under the engine with a skid plate to keep rocks out of it.

Or you could put it in the bed and just run some long 4" tubing back and forth from it.

Or even better, take your hood off and put the intercooler on hinges. That'd be sweet.

WRX style eh begle1? Thought has crossed my mind before. Large hood scoop with an intercooler tucked up in it.

No, I'm saying to get an intercooler the size of your hood and use it AS your hood.

All they do is leak anyways, it shouldn't be a problem.

Not with a quadruple, dual sequentially compound air induction system... With a single turbo a leak is a pesky problem lok

i thought about that idea of a STI style top mount and also thought about mounting under truck with a skid plate that also serves as an air duct.
