Transfer Case
If it goes all the way in I wouldnt worry about it because its a gear driven transfercase so they grind a little sometimes or at least all of them I have ever had do and sometimes they whine a little running down the highway but I wouldnt worry about it to much.
i have had the same problem with mine but only difference is mine doesnt like to come out of 4 low and is it something to take note of that when im driving my t-case chatters until i push the shifter forward and it stops? maybe low fluid?
I was under the impression that these weren't synchronized transfer cases, GM made a synchronized 205 briefly but ran into some sort of issue with them, only produced them for a year or two. Without the front end spinning you won't get the desired "shift on the fly" think of it as trying to rake your truck into first without pushing in the clutch. Hubs have to be locked, it's a gear driven transfer case. Can't cram two teeth into one groove
, it's all gotta be spinning at the same speed. At low speeds can you pull it into gear with minimal grinding?
