yea I don't plan on towing much more than a small box trailer or a 14' boat and trailer from time to time. I kind of thought the frames were generally the same in thickness and strength, just different in length.

 

It all depends, as for the older chevys i know the 1/2 ton model and the 3/4 ton model are the same thing.

 

The frames are not the same AD1,2,&3 are differnet AD1 is D150 and the 2&3 are the D250 350 they mearsure the same but are thicker. Same with AD5,6,&7 frames

 

That's what they say, a tape, and dial indicator will say different on some. There are some that are thicker but there are some that are the exact same as 150's.

 

Well I went to go see the truck, and it ended up being a beaut. The pictures didn't do it justice at all. Nice gloss black paint job and hemi orange pinstriping really set the truck off. The guy had a '93 w150 that had a blown up 360, and a wrecked '93 w250 with the cummins and a 5 speed. He swapped the entire drivetrain, motor, tranny, axles, etc. Everything looked great and to the non-dodge fanatics it would have appeared a factory-built truck. best part is that it has less than 150k miles. As soon as the guy comes up with the money for my truck, I'll be on my way to pick this one up!!

New to this sight sence i bought a cummins farm truck for $1500 !!! Already got the pump turned up fuel pin on the way! I have a 93 dodge w150 5spd 318 RAN GOOD now it has 218xxx miles on it.... So i was thinking I have this GREAT running cummins and drive train I think I'm going to stuff that in the 150 auta be wild!!! I wana see pics of that truck you looked at!!! If i ever get it done ill try to have pics im going down to bare frame debating boxing in the frame.... 4" lift for sure swapin axles and all it has 4:10 gears now to slow for what im looking for i want fuel mileage!!!
