Getrag Pilot Bearing Upgrade

brass is the only way to go to my knowledge
due to doing a sealer roller or ball has to have a larger hole in the flywheel to make it fit
put brass back in it they last for ever never seen or had an issue with the stock ones
BTW that one QU51010 wont fit thats for the nv4500

Strange you say that. Many people have the same opinion that the bronze bushing is one of the major causes of failures in the Getrag. The below quote is from the vendor that sells the QU51010. His opinion is shared by many.
"The only contributing factor to Getrag failures that is easy to remedy is the clutch pilot bushing. Why Dodge used a pilot bushing in the first place is a mystery, but a simple flywheel modification that any competent machine shop can perform permits the installation of a heavy duty, sealed ball pilot bearing."
I can source the bearing once my flywheel is off, I was just trying to save a little time by sourcing it before I pull it.

I probly should have stated that about the QU51010 that will not fit in the stock flywheel and a modification will be needed.........
as far as the stock bearing like said I have been working with 1st gens all my life its about 70% of what I do and I have never seen one fail. now depending on what your wanting to do with the truck would be a deciding factor on to use a SPB or the stock one if the pilot bearing fails or cracks and slides out that will allow the input shaft to move side to side and up and down causing premature where on the shaft bearing sincros and gear
there my thoughts to this if you run a stock clutch run a stock pilot because any other good clutch that comes with a flywheel will come with a upgrade would i pull a stock truck apart to JUST replace a worn pilot bearing with something better? No i would either put the stock back in or just buy a new clutch that will last you years and years
