Default how much will a flex plate cost for a 1993 4x4 a518 tranny

i have a good lead on info that my tranny flex plate is cracked so how much will it cost me to have a new one installed. what leads me to think that it is gone is that in park neutral reverse and drive the hole truck shakes and rumbles from the tranny but when you tap the throttle it stops til around 2400 rpm. the torque convertor bolts are all tight and torqued to the right setting so i dnt know what else to beleive.

A billet well cost you about $400 and a factory you can get for about 150 to 200. if your going to mod your truck go with a billet and be done with it. factory style flex plates are a weak link in this trucks. you may want to stop driving it if it is the flex plate going out. It can mess up the rear main oil seal housing. and bell housing. mine went out and got both on my truck not a cheap fix.

2nd gen flex plate is marginally better than 1st gen.dont get ripped off on the flex plates that claim to be billet and are just shot peened and cad plated 2nd gen plates. I got my 2nd gen plate from cummins.

Try here (almost half way down the page . . . .)

Part number: #58PFP, rated at 800 ~ 900ft/lbs, SFI, etc.

If you get the "thicker" than stock one contemplate getting PATC's spacer. They sell a cut out with new dowels that is sandwiched between the trans and engine plate. Allows you to keep your needed 1/8" or so of lash between the converter and flex plate. I've got one in my truck, does the trick.

Got my flex plate from them and trans overhaul kit Good price and was surpised the overhaul kit I got was very close to the factory overhaul kit from chrysler.

Space is not needs IF you use and aftermarket billet convertor.

And yes (smartass's out there) there is a difference from a cheap trans kits to a factory kit.
