Default fuel economy vs hp/torq

Hey guys
I’m shore this question is asked alot and the different answers and ideas are thrown around alot
How can I get the most fuel economy wail maintaining maximum over all hp/torque.
I’m looking in to gauges now and I read this article 1993 Dodge W250 - Cummins Diesel Engine - Diesel Power Magazine I plan on keeping the VE,
I’m open to all ideas and suggestions
Thanks

The best combo Ive encountered is stock injectors, 4" exhaust, 3" intake tubes, intake, 16 cm housing, 56mm comp wheel, and a couple turns on the fuel screw. With this setup I can keep up with the new trucks and still get 21-24 mpg all day long.

Your truck is it stick min is an auto. 518 I understand that it does mean alot but this is the card I was dealt.
"16 cm housing, 56mm comp wheel" you’re talking about the turbo right.

Yes those are the measurements of the compressor wheel and turbine housing. Since you have an auto getting a good torque converter would be a good first step to better mpg.

Theirs a guy out there or in here calls huntinguy I think? It’s saved on another computer but he’s put a vgturbo off a 6.0 ford on an 89 or 90 1st gen it’s cool, deferent, and a challenge for another day. In the same thought a 2nd gen turbo for the small turbo in a twin setup is that sound like a good start and do they help mpg?

can you use a sec gen turbo to fuel a stock hc1 turbo in a twin set up? cus that would make twins on mine fairly easy since i have a sec gen turbo handy i cant remember what the sec gen turbo is at the moment but if it would work that would save me alot of time and money

I read recently about a guy that put twins on his truck and his mileage dropped to 18-19 mpg. I would think a vgt turbo off a 6.7 would be the best for mpg. It can spool almost instantly and becomes less restrictive at higher rpm.
