battery trouble?
ok i am having issues with my battery it dies really fast if the truck is not running. it charges up fine and runs right where it should/always has in my truck at about 15 volts, when the truck is running. everynow and then ill go to start it and it wont turn over just get click click click. the battery is about a year old and wasnt cheap at all!!!!
and if i jump it it starts right up and charges enough that i can drive it and shut it off and come back an hour later and start it just fine but i let it sit over night last night and this morning wouldent start idk if its the battery? alternator? bad ground? and something keeps blowing the fuse in my dash lights i have blown two now in the last week. anyone have any ideas before i take it to a shop? thanks,

its not dead just low enough that it turnes over about 4 times real slow then just clicks i will put a volt meter on it when i get home and see what the battery says i dont think its the cables i think its a fried battery or maybe bad alt. or something is like cumminskid92 says a short or something drawing power all the time.

ya its just that one fuse but there is a wire going into the fuse with one of those crappy fuse conector so i think that may be the culprate

idk what the wire goes to but i will find out later if the battery and alt check out

With the batt fully charged (or whatever it gets to at best) check the voltage, then disconnect the pos cable and let it sit overnight. Then check it again in the morning before reconnecting the cable. Then connect the cable and check it with the pos cable connected. You will see a drop somewhere that will be your clue as to if it's the battery or something else. If it is something other than the battery, leave it disonnected when not running before you ruin the battery or burn the truck down.
