Default 1st gens in pieces

Have the 1st gen torn all apart. KDP fix i want to install while its all apart. what about freeze plugs? Are they usually a big issue? any other little fixes saving my *** down the road is appreciated.

As far as I know freeze plugs only start to act up at high rpm with a stock cooling system. Pressure builds up towards the back of the block and can pop the plug out. Couldn't tell ya what kind of rpms... They sell aluminum plugs with o-ring seals. Some bolt in and some are held in by like a T bolt. Idk if they're worth it on a first gen. From what I hear the VE won't fuel to or past 4000 rpm loaded
