valve adjustment
Well i wouldnt think very much. its not very hard just a matter of getting valve covers off and probably putting new gaskets on= 50 bucks. And then setting the engine and adjusting accordingly. I would say no more than $ 100 bucks including new gaskets if they are still around that price.
I use the companion method (bottom of page)

I would have to know the mechanic... I wouldn't trust a typical automotive mechanic under the age of 40 with knowing how to use a feeler gauge. Not the normal operation.
It definitely shouldn't take longer than an hour, unless something's really buggered up.

ya i ain't gunna take it to any random place that is for sure. nothin messed up with the ol dodge....its got 135k now and as far as i know it never has had an adjustment. previous owner wrote down anything and everything that was done to the truck so....pretty sure it needs one. with the ol hood stack i can hear it if i am goin down a hill and let off it enough but not all the way.
