Take the fuel screw out first. Put it back in when you're done.

Other than that, this link helps.

If you don't know what you're doing I wouldn't recommend putting the spring in by yourself. There are alot of things that can get lost and many things to know before you go tearing the top off of the pump.

If only it were that simple... you can't just simply put it back in. Count the turns when you pull it out so when you put it back in you'll know exactly how it was when you tore it apart. Same goes for the idle screw.

Putting it back in the way it came out is a given. The link I gave showed leaving it in, but that's a good way to break the lever in the pump.

The only issue i had was the little top hat spring deal, it fell out and took me forever looking for it. Just be careful with it cause it is small and when it falls it is a son of gun to find. Oh yea and make sure you put the throttle linkage back on the splines just like it came off otherwise it wont start unless you give it throttle.

Or it will over rev on startup.....just did mine yesterday and i still need to adjust it i think....idles a little high

and I agree with 901, putting that in is a bit tougher than what it sounds too...found that out the hard way
