This may sound asinine, but is your throttle linkage hooked up? I'm in the process of some mods for a pull and I had to turn my idle down after maxing the pump, I left the throttle linkage unhooked and the return spring on my kickdown cable is what was actually moving my throttle. I had very little If any throttle control. I was quite baffled for a second then it clicked.

ok good news. got her figured.... thank you all of your imput, no matter the idea, it's still something to check into, always good for constructive thinking.... sorry for the lack of organazation and logic with the posts. the throttle issue was i pulled the throttle linkage apart to re attach the spring that had come un done, and it didnt get put back correctly. i still have the issue of the rack not coming out to play. when i work the throttle with the fuel pin out nothing happens. i greased it and worked it like a rented mule and still no sign of the rack tracking in the grease. any ideas?

Have you operated the throttle with the truck off and pin out to see if it pops into the housing? If not hit it with some PB blasyer or equivelent. Push the pin back with a screw driver after you get it to work.

well i got the pin working. there is a small plug on the afc housing on the throttle bolt side of the rack, opened her up and had to TAP the pin to move it. once moved, the rack was free. shied diesel told me to remove the pump so they could fix it, cause there was no other way.... bull shnit

Keep an eye on the weep hole in the back of the pump, don't
Be suprised if you start to dribble some diesel out of it. Usually when a
Pin is set up like that once it's free it then takes it's toll on that o-ring. Then again it could be smooth sailing. But good job man, glad you got it working again.

Meh.... Most the tuned and aftermarket pins will cause it to leak a little. Won't hurt a damn thing, its real slow.

I've been pretty lucky , popped the pin out once and had a little weep but it's gone. I was just assuming since his seemed to be set up so bad
