Question New truck new to diesels need help

Well I have a 79 chevy 4x4 3/4 ton with the drivetrain out of a 1991 dodge 727 trans 205 t case and a dana 70 rear axle disc brakes 3.08 gears 32" tires. My first question is how much boost should there be? if a really get on it i get about 9 psi and on the highway driving its only about 1-3 psi if that. Also if its in neutral and I rev it up the boost gauge drops and then returns to zero. I plumbed the gauge into the head behind the throttle bracket is there a better spot for it? The second question is this truck will only go about 63mph and thats standing on the gas pedal is this normal I know its only a three speed trans. I would appreciate any help I can get thanks

mine when i bought it made 16 measured at the intake manifold ,after exhaust intake and upgrade to 16cm exhaust side of turbo mild pump tweaks 25lbs . cruising on the hiway at 55/60 1-2 lbs .in stock form they are meant to tow not go fast you are also hampered by lack of OD . read through the stickies they will provide all you need to know performance wise.before you start tuning get a pyrometer.

yes for sure get a pyrometer before you do anything performance wise. you can also get a gov spring and a fuel pin and that should help a lot to.
