Default Getrag hard to shift

My tranny is a little hard to get in gears at a stop what is this I have to slam into a few gears before I can get into the gears I want from a stop is it the oil I'm running or what???

It calls for 5w30 I filled mine up to the fill hole then pulled the shifter out and put a quart of Lucas oil stabilizer in it. It shifts good and is really quiet. I heard you should add the extra quart so I did the lucas

Rather than pulling the shifter out isin't there another way of adding the additional quart beyond the fill hole? I thought someone mentioned going through a PTO bolt. Am I missing something?

Ya a Pto bolt is what I did but I am liking the lucas idea I may do that tomorrow

friend of mine had this problem on an 84 f250 4 speed and it turned out to be the clutch fork out of adjustment
