It might take a while to find one, but I'm sure you can if you're willing to travel. What sort of shape is your truck in? Miles, rust, mods or lack thereof? I'm just curious 'cause $7k sounds like a pretty good price if your truck is 'average.' I'd be over the moon if I got offered that for my heap.

5 speed EXTRA cab 1st gens. Lets see, I have been looking for 5 months now and I have seen 2 for sale during that time (4x4 trucks). During that time, I came across 2 extra cab 2wd 5 speed trucks. Thats 4 total. I am not talking just local to me, that takes into account the entire West Coast and up into Canada BC areas. They are freaks of nature, a true rarity.

THAT ^^^ is a very good point. G360 or NV45/5600 and you're good to go.

You can go to NV4500 Transmissions - Adapters - NV4500 Conversion Kits | NV4500.COM they have the whole setup. I was wondering what you were on with that jibberish also

Longshot- The NV4500 adapter kit seems like a good solution at around 550 bucks. Guess you would just need to find a Getrag 5 speed crossmember and then modify it as required during NV4500 trans install. It would be nice if someone who has done a conversion put together a write with some photos or video.
