Default tranny swap help please! any one done a 47rh swap

Hi I just got a new tranny now just gotta swapem out i have a 92 w350 reg cab long box am i going to run into any problems or should it go pretty smooth? Thanks guys

Your going to need at a minimum;
  • 47rh adapter and flex plate
  • 2nd gen starter
  • Drive shaft (Front and Rear)
  • Someway to activate lock up
  • modify cross member
  • Modify Frame to clear 2nd gen starter
  • 47rh converter

And a few other odds and ends. You will be happy with it, All the parts you can score from the truck you got the tranny from.

the engine adapter is 1 1/8" thicker so the front drive line need to be 1 1/8" longer and rear needs to be 1 1/8" shorter . NEVER take this kind of info for grandted allway check your trucks mesurements and take those mesurements to the drive line shop. move the shafter mount 1" back on the frame. Ken

will the aluminum housing hold up to that trans? I have guys here say that they would put in a SAE #2 STEEL HOUSING.

I dont think that the SAE adapter has the same bolt pattern as the dodge transmission Ken
