Is there any other place besides the dash pad and the door sticker to locate the vehicle VIN?

i've heard that there are "hidden VIN's" as long as the panels/body is original it should match the vin in the dash. i've had pretty much every panel off of one of these trucks, sanded down and prepped. never noticed anything that resembled a vin, then again i wasnt exactly looking. do some searches, i know there were a few jeep sites that were talking about the hidden vins and i even saw on a legal site that in a ford ranger the hidden vin is under the headliner on the driver side.
