Default Qustions about my a/c

My a/c compressor isn't kicking on. The switch has power, no blown fuse, all worked last year, I know it's overcharged right now, it was converted to r134, and I was a dumb a@@ and overcharged it. Could the over charging be my problem?? My buddie seems to think it's a ground problem on the comressor(it has power as well), if I don't have a reclaimer, is there a way to "reclaim it" or should I just vac it down and start again. should I just go ahead and replace my a/c switch fer sh@ts and giggles?? I gota have a/c
Any help is always appreciated

Remove a test port cap.
Grab a small screwdriver.
Take a deep breath and hold it.
Put screwdriver in the test port and depress the schrader valve.
Vent as much as you think is necessary, or until you pass out. (If you have gauges it may be more accurate)
Repeat.

AC clutch should have power all the time and is switched ground by the computer.
